It's the question we hear most often at a first consultation: Botox or Xeomin? Both are neuromodulators that relax the small muscles responsible for expression lines, and both are FDA-approved, but the formulations aren't identical, and the right choice comes down to your skin, your history and what you're looking for.

What They Have in Common

Both treatments work the same way at a basic level: a purified protein is injected into targeted muscles, temporarily preventing the contractions that cause dynamic wrinkles — the lines that form when you frown, squint or raise your eyebrows. Results for both typically appear within three to seven days and last three to four months, and the injection experience itself is nearly identical.

Where They Differ

Botox Cosmetic includes accessory proteins alongside its active ingredient, which give it a well-documented, decades-long track record. Xeomin is what's sometimes called a "naked" formulation — it contains only the active protein, with no accessory proteins attached. In theory, this may reduce the chance of the body building resistance to the treatment over time, which is why some guests who've used Botox for years without change consider switching. Neither is objectively "stronger"; they simply carry the protein differently.

"We've had guests who've done wonderfully on Botox for a decade, and guests who found Xeomin settled in more evenly on their skin. There's no universal answer — only the right answer for your face."

How We Help You Decide

During your consultation, we'll look at your muscle strength, the areas you want to treat, and your injection history, if you have one. If you've had Botox before and been happy with it, there's rarely a reason to switch. If you're new to neuromodulators, or if a formulation hasn't been giving you the consistent results it once did, we'll walk through both options and their approximate pricing so you can make the call with full information — not a bias toward whichever product happens to be in the fridge that week.

Both are excellent tools. The right one is simply the one that's right for you.
